Mostly Mamina...blogging from A to Z ... G

G is for Gates
The stairway to our basement is a long steep flight of steps. Some days I've wondered if the angle the stairs made to the ground was ninety degrees. So one of the top things on our baby list was a gate.
Several research hours later, (all by hubby dear) the gate came in and was duly installed. "Want to come and try out the gate?"
"Try?"
"Uh huh. Open it?"
I laughed. Its a gate to keep out toddlers. Us adults can come and go easily. Its designed that way.
Well.
A long ten minutes and several painful twists of my tendonitis afflicted wrists later, I gave up.
It's been months since but I still dread going downstairs because I'd have to fiddle with the gate.
Hopefully if its tough for me, it should be tougher for baby.
Hmm.
I hope.
But I ain't taking any bets.

  1. Hello! You won't need the gate for about a year, until your little one is walking, until then, leave it open! You can't carry a baby and open the gate one-handed with tendonitis. Good luck! Liz http://www.lizbrownleepoet.com (my blog address)

    1. You're absolutely right. We leave it open most times. This gate definitely can't be opened with one hand.
