F is for First Moments
The first moments of any adventure are the most promising, most unforgettable, most beautiful. New beginnings. Especially true of a new life.
A few years ago, I was with a friend in the operation theater, holding her hand as we welcomed her baby into the world. One moment we were nine people in the operation theater, the doctors, the nurses, and all, and then next moment, there were ten. I cried.
My first memory of my own daughter is the very first ultrasound. She waved her hands and legs enthusiastically at us. We actually giggled and waved back, much to the amusement of the doctor.
The birth of my baby was a new high. Strapped to the operation table, I watched everything as though through a dense city fog. My husband's eyes, looking bluer, smiled from behind the scrubs mask he had to wear.
Then she arrived.
And of course I cried.
First moments. I never thought it possible, but these led to days more promising, more unforgettable, more beautiful.
Sigh.

Indescribably beautiful!
