Mostly Mamina...blogging from A to Z ... E

E is for Ear infection

Oh I know, this is far from a glamorous or fun topic. But then who said that parenting is only fun or glamorous?
All babies go through a series of ear infections. Especially  if they go to daycare or hang around siblings who go to school. Thats the nature of the really potent cold virus.
Not knowing what baby is crying about is the worst part of being a parent. The first time our daughter got a ear infection, I was miserable. She would cry and paw at her ear sadly.
I had no idea what she was going through.
Until I got a ear infection myself.
The pain was excruciating. The loss of hearing, the loss of balance. Every now and then it would feel as if someone took a power screw driver to my head and was drilling away through to my ear. Agonizing.
But what hurt more than my head or my ear was my heart. I went to the place where my daughter probably did. The thought that she has undergone a similar pain, was really harrowing.
Since then, I've heard it hurts adults more that it hurts babies, but still.
Every mother has probably walked the road I did.
I'm sure I will walk other roads that mothers did before me.
It's still quite painful.
The difficult part of being Mamina.

  1. What? Ear infection? Holy cow.
Well that was the reaction before reading the post. After reading it, it reminded me of my pain in the ear. LOL! :D
My take for E if Embrace it. Hope you like it even though it's less educative.

  2. I shudder when I hear this word. I have a friend whose kid is prone to the worst kind of ear infections and it is terrible. My daughter hasn't had one but I can only imagine the pain and agony!
