Mostly Mamina...blogging from A to Z ...I

I is for Itsy Bitsy Spider
When Baby was born I told myself that I won't let her watch any animation or TV until she's over a year. I didn't want to be one of those parents who have to turn on the TV for the child to be fed.
Then she fell ill. Potent daycare viruses. She needed to be on a nebulizer.
Now, sitting quietly while a plastic cup is attached to your face is not something you can expect a four month old to do. Several tactics later, we gave in and out came the Tablet and YouTube to the rescue. Animated Mother Goose rhymes rang through the room and had her quiet enough to let the nebs do its work.
Itsy bitsy spider sure helped a lot!!

"When you enter the room of parenthood, leave all your preconceived notions at the door."
Lesson learned.

P.S. We still stick to our rule of no TV or youtube or such. Unless it's a distraction for taking medicines.
I hope we don't have to break that rule anytime soon.

  1. Good for you! I confess that I often did use the TV as a sitter for the little ones, and then one day it got to the point where we knew it was on way too much and we just cut the cord. We had no TV for almost ten years. Sometimes it was tough, but I'm glad we did it, at least for a while.
