I is
for Insouciance
This feels like a shade of April 1st. A dollop of apathy with a splash of unconcern,
and a topping of carelessness. All this
is baked in a soft pastry of nonchalance. It makes for a surprisingly interesting
dish even though the feeling that insouciance awakens is that of an indifferent
lethargy. Especially when its served
with a tall glass of cool impassive languor.
“I would live all my life in nonchalance and insouciance,
were it not for making a living, which is rather a nouciance.”

Wow. I loved this one. It's a dessert I'd like to eat the end piece of and then procrastinate on it for a day before I got back to work.
ReplyDeleteAlso I love Ogden Nash.
ReplyDeleteGreat post! Insouciance is the kind of word I wish I was smart enough to use.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds.......... scrumptious.
ReplyDeleteOuch. That was like saying "It is the juxtaposition of two vascular orbicular muscles in a state of expansion and contraction". Well, I have been following A2Z and your blogs. Now let me know what I said !!
ReplyDeleteAh! Ages since I felt insouciant!
ReplyDeleteYummy.
ReplyDeleteI love the way you described this emotion. Wouldn't have thought of it ever!
