New adventures...

Earlier this year, after the Poetry Marathon, so beautifully led by Caitlins Elizabeth Jans, I was drawn into Japanese poetry forms. It started with a Ziuhitsu that was a prompt provided by Jacob Jans during the marathon. As I researched this form, I realized that my haikus were far from what a haiku really is.

Thus started my journey into the realm of haiku and the start of a thrilling adventure. Thanks to my mentor Ferris Gilli, who helped me get in touch with the intricacies of the form and probably unknowingly, helped me get in touch with my deeper feelings and reactions to subtleties in Nature. I learned about kireji and kigo. This is a delicate and very difficult art. I'm learning. And loving it!

Earlier this week, was my first publication of haiku! Here is the haiku which was published in Poetry Pea S4E20 episode. Beyond thrilled!
